Our school

Isisford State School is in Western Queensland and is one of four towns located within the Longreach Regional Council area. We have access to Longreach via a bitumen road and takes approximately 75 minutes travelling time. We are within the Great Artesian Basin and situated right on the banks of the Barcoo River.

One of the main advantages of being a small school is that we are able to provide one-on-one attention to each student and focus on improving their learning outcomes according to their individual needs. In the classroom and in the playground we expect and achieve high levels of good behaviour, manners and social interaction.

The school plays a very active part in community by being involved in events such as Australia Day, Anzac Day, the Isisford Sheep and Wool Show, Isisford Races and the Isisford Fishing Competition.

Our facilities include three main buildings. Block A is a two-storey building which holds our Administration Office, Staffroom, Japanese Room upstairs, and our kitchen and wet learning area downstairs. Block B consists of our two classrooms. Block C is our Library and  Performing Arts building.
